Vaca JV football edges past Vintage

Vacaville High School's junior varsity football team had three takeaways in the final three minutes to secure a 26-14 win over Vintage Friday night at Tom Zunino Stadium.

Kenyan Clay gave the Bulldogs the lead for good when he caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Coleman Christensen with 6:26 left.

Vintage drove to Vacaville's 33-yard line before Reed White recovered a fumble with 2:45 left. Vintage got the ball back, but Terrance Trueblood took an interception 22 yards for final score with 12 seconds left. Nick Berumen added an interception on the final play of the game.

Darrin Fragoza also had a fumble recovery for the Bulldogs, who improved to 3-0 against Monticello Empire League teams.

Vacaville also scored on a 10-yard run by Justin Garner and a 1-yard run by Christensen. Sean Carrington led the Bulldog defense, according to head coach Scott Lopez.

Vacaville hosts Napa next Friday night.
