Vaca gets defensive against Rodriguez

The Vacaville High School junior varsity football team scored two touchdowns on defense to key a 21-13 victory over Rodriquez Friday night at Tom Zunino Stadium in the season opener for both schools.

Marwin Wilson recovered a Rodriguez fumble in the end zone for the Bulldogs' first touchdown. Max Held added a 10 yard interception return for another score to give the Bulldogs a 21-7 lead at halftime.

Vacaville also scored on a 2-yard run by Reed White. Gordie Clary added a 2-point conversion pass to Terrance Trueblood.

The Bulldogs also received strong defensive play from Kesse Kassis and Sean Carrington.

Vacaville will play Laguna Creek at Elk Grove next Friday night.
